Filler Strip
As with the spine, we have also switched to injection moulding for this part, and as a result the fitting of it into the moulded slot on the spine is far easier than with the current design. We have switched from an extruded flexible PVC to a flexible material called Elvax, which is a softer variant of Hytrel.
- The moulding means that all the dimensions are constant, and it will always fit into the spine slot smoothly.
- The moulded holes for the suspension screws pop out, so individual set-ups can be made by the customer if they so wish.
- With a design change, the nylon washers, which are required at present on top of the filler strip & between the suspension bar, are no longer required.
- The material used, reacts far better to moisture & UV, and will not deform after time in a certain position.
